Rewarding Results

We are Metuchen Momentum's High School robotics team based in Metuchen, New Jersey, USA. Otherwise known as Team 7587, we seek to engage young adults in our community by cultivating skills in engineering, programming, marketing, teamwork, communications, and leadership through the FIRST Robotics Competitions. At the same time, we hope to educate and inspire people in our community, both young and old, with the wonders of science and technology.

What is FIRST?

FIRST stands “For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology”. The FIRST mission is dedicated to changing the way high school students regard education and whet their appetite for a career in science and technology.

Becoming Balanced

As we continue to grow, it is a serious goal of ours to keep inclusivity at the core of our operations. We are committed to balancing the team in terms of gender representation, as well as representation across all grades.

How does the team work?

Team 7587 is proud to operate like a real company. Working together, we design, build, test, and compete while meeting strict deadlines and balancing our responsibilities outside of the team. We also fundraise and engage in our community on both a local and civic level throughout the year.

Who can join the team?

When we say anyone, we mean it. Robotics is more than just STEM. We welcome artists, designers, entrepreneurs, photographers, content creators, and enthusiasts of all kinds. We try new things, fail, try again, learn, laugh, and continue to grow in a safe and dynamic environment.
